Who we are

WineRoutes is operated by Full Monty Development, South Africa, 62 Dahlia Street. For privacy questions, rights requests, or complaints, contact privacy@wineroutes.wine.

This policy applies to the WineRoutes mobile app, the public landing site, related support flows, shared route pages, and connected admin tooling used to manage content and media.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect account details, login identifiers, password reset records, profile information such as display name, phone number, and profile image, saved routes, favourite wineries, visited wineries, reviews, followed events, support messages, and deletion requests.

We also collect technical and service data such as device and app identifiers, approximate or precise location when you enable it, notification preferences, analytics events, telemetry, entitlement and advertising flags, media upload references, and route-share metadata.

How we use information

We use personal information to create and secure accounts, authenticate users through native login and Keycloak-connected flows, reset passwords, personalise profiles, save routes, publish public route shares, follow events, process reviews, maintain support records, and operate the service.

We also use data to improve listings, measure app performance, detect abuse, understand feature usage, support maps and routing, enable reminders or notifications you request, and operate advertising-supported releases where enabled.

Legal bases and permissions

For South African users, we process information to perform our contract with you, operate the platform, comply with legal obligations, protect legitimate business and security interests, and where required rely on your consent. For EU or UK visitors, equivalent lawful bases include contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance duties.

Location, notifications, profile photo access, and any future marketing messages are optional. Background visit tracking should only operate if you turn it on and your device permissions allow it. Promotional communications should remain opt-in, while essential account and service notices may still be sent when needed.

Advertising, analytics, and public content

WineRoutes may use analytics, telemetry, AdMob, AdSense, or similar services to understand usage, support ads in free experiences, and measure reliability. Platform-specific advertising identifiers may be used where permitted by device settings and app-store rules.

If you publish reviews, profile content, or public route shares, the information you choose to submit can be visible to other users or anyone with the share link. Please avoid posting personal information you do not want to make public.

Service providers and international transfers

We use service providers for authentication, infrastructure hosting, storage, media delivery, mapping, notifications, analytics, telemetry, and advertising. Those providers may process information on our behalf in South Africa or in other countries.

Where information is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected under contractual, organisational, or technical safeguards appropriate to the service and the law that applies.

Retention, rights, and complaints

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including account operation, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, and recordkeeping. Some records may remain in backups, logs, or compliance files for a limited period after deletion requests.

You may request access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, withdrawal of consent where applicable, or confirmation of how we process your information by emailing privacy@wineroutes.wine. If you are not satisfied, you may also complain to the relevant supervisory or information regulator in your jurisdiction.

Security and children

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, but no online service is completely secure. If we become aware of a material security compromise, we will take the steps required by applicable law and communicate when appropriate.

WineRoutes is intended for lawful use by adults interested in winery, route, and event planning. The service is not directed to children, and alcohol-related content should be used responsibly and in accordance with local law.
